An Environmental Scientist, Air Quality at FROSKR has strong knowledge of provincial and federal regulations and enjoys problem-solving and working within a multi-stakeholder environment. In this role, you will assist in securing, leading, and executing projects with FROSKR’s partners in the mining, heavy manufacturing, petroleum, municipal and energy sectors. FROSKR Environmental Scientists interact with clients, regulators, and local communities to facilitate their sustainability goals with their technical and professional expertise.

Your Role as Environmental Scientist, Air Quality:

  • Execute and manage the entire environmental scope for air quality monitoring projects, providing guidance to teammates, enforcing company and project policies, and acting as the primary environment liaison.
  • Assist to operate, modify, inspect, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair all air quality monitoring instrumentation including in an on-call capacity.
  • Prepare reports and perform quality assurance and quality control of environmental data.
  • Ensure that the appropriate talent is in place through training, mentoring, and succession planning and allocate resources according to project needs.
  • Ensure client relationships are nurtured and maintained.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures applicable to FROSKR.
  • Participate in the development of KPIs for performance measurement for both individual team members and the company.
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring of new employees for the division by working closely with Human Resources.
  • Participate in business development activities as required as a technical expert for your division.
  • Maintain a safe operating environment.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Degree or diploma in environmental science, engineering, or related studies.
  • Proven background in management and supervision.
  • Strong project management skills (e.g., development of work plans, budgets, schedules, and project controls) in a client-facing role.
  • Strong technical background and knowledge of air quality regulations.
  • Experience in the environmental consulting industry including field work.
  • Experience in automation and instrumentation considered an asset.
  • Work well independently including ability to work alone in remote locations and adapt to conditions/resources.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with exceptional report writing skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence with access to a personal vehicle.
